On January 21st, 2016 the Hardin County Commissioners officially revoked the Alternative Energy Zone in Hardin County*. Awesome news right! But of course as with most things in life, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is (hence the asterisks.)

While the AEZ has been rescinded, it has only been removed for new projects. Previous meetings with the commissioners and other county officials have led us to believe that the county will not revoke the AEZ for approved projects for fear of litigation from the developers.

Some of the group recently met with the commissioners to discuss the decision and it appears that they finally understand our property rights concerns, along with all the bad that comes with the AEZ.

Thank you Hardin County Commissioners!

However, this will prove to be too little too late for those living in one of three proposed and approved projects throughout Hardin County, but we certainly applaud and thank the commissioner for doing what they can. We hope that this will prevent future unbridled development across the county.
